Let Them Eat Cake!
For those of you with a sweet tooth – this has to be one of the highlights of planning your wedding…choosing your Wedding Cake and arranging multiple tastings of course! Not only should your cake look good, it also has to taste good and don’t be afraid to go for something a bit different – your guests love to see elements of your personalities throughout the day in all your choices. There are many options to choose from along with some other equally delectable alternative ideas, or you could even go all out and have a whole table of cakes!
Tiered Wonders – the tiered Wedding Cake is still the most popular style for Weddings. Traditionally wedding cakes were made to bring good luck to all guests & the couple and they date back to medieval times. Whether you keep to the classic white tiers, or opt to jazz it up a little, or colour it to match your theme, they still look spectacular. You could have fruit cake, or choose your favourite flavours for each tier for some variety, and Naked Cakes are absolutely fabulous for a summer Wedding.
Also if you both love everything cake, have a Bride’s Cake AND a Groom’s cake, one for him and one for her – even better!
If a tiered cake isn’t for you, why not have a Cupcake, Mini Cakes, Macaron or Doughnut Tower. They look stunning and ever so pretty plus there’s no slicing involved – guests can help themselves straight away!
Or, if you want the best of both, you could have a Cake or Dessert Table filled with all your favourite treats. Go for lots of smaller cakes or a Wedding Cake as the centrepiece with lots of treats surrounding it. Some of our favourites are mini cupcakes with icing coloured to match your theme, personalised cake pops and jars of sweets like marshmallows & iced gems!
You could even ask your cake maker to do your favours as well and give your guests a mini goody to enjoy with their coffee or to take home with them after all the partying.
Then for the finishing touch, ask your florist to decorate your cake with flowers to match your centres, or find a cake topper that you both love that represents you as a couple. So many delicious options, and most importantly – don’t forgot to have some of your cake on your Wedding Day too, or at least ask your venue to save you some to enjoy the next day!
